Blog – Business and Ecological Wins in the Canadian Construction Sector

🌱🌎 What a good moment it was this week for us as we had the pleasure of signing the final contracts on behalf of The Bloomington Group Ltd. for an important foray into the Canadian construction industry. The project is with one of Canada’s largest commercial, industrial, and residential construction firms, and the software to be implemented is IBM Envizi. What’s so exciting about all of this is that IBM Envizi, which includes IBM WatsonX AI features, is in a class of its own in terms of enabling businesses to track, analyse and adjust course on energy efficiency, business optimization, and sustainability.

One of the most exciting features of Envizi is that it can be used to help organizations track and manage Green House Gas Protocol Scope 3 carbon emissions levels deep into their value and supply chains. Envizi enables important sustainable practices in other spheres as well, covering all Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) areas.

Given that the construction industry is such an important sector in Canada, with such complex value and supply chains, and with such an impact on how our built spaces are set up to operate, this is a real ecological, business efficiency, and economic win for all.

At The Bloomington Group Ltd., we hope to do more and more work alongside our partners and colleagues at IBM in this area, both within the Canadian, US, and international construction industries, and in other sectors as well.

Deep Dive with IBM’s Sustainability Software Team from Across Canada – An amazing Business Partnership

🌎 Great session today with IBM’s Sustainability Software team from across Canada! At The Bloomington Group Ltd., we’re feeling inspired and energized about how we can take clients to the next level with some of the world’s best AI enabled enterprise technologies, doing so in a way that helps them optimize efficiency, save energy, manage costs, and boost revenue β€” all while making great strides on their sustainability goals.

We help clients implement a wide range of AI enabled systems that sit directly behind their commercial/institutional operations:

=>order management, starting with their customers’ purchases or orders
=>inventory management and visibility
=>warehousing and distribution
=>supply chain visibility and management (including food and agricultural supply chain transparency and tracing)
=>facilities and physical assets management
=>weather risk management and mitigation
=>climate risk management and mitigation
=>and the management of an organization’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability goals and reporting – including measuring carbon emissions and carbon footprint reduction

We’re so pleased to be able to help our clients implement technologies that drive business efficiencies and success, while at the same time better protecting the Earth and its ecosystems.

Shout out and huge thanks to all of our collaborating partners at IBM!

Advancing Climate Positive AI Technology at IBM Innovation Studio – 51 Astor Place, NYC

🌎🌱 Great environmental technology meetings this week with some of IBM’s brightest and most passionate thinkers! This is why, at The Bloomington Group Ltd., we’re so happy to work closely with IBM on our green sector projects.

I personally found it so energizing and inspiring to engage, along with Judson Sinton, our visionary CEO and Chief Architect, with our IBM partners (including colleagues from IBM Canada) and clients to discuss and launch projects that will help businesses and regions become more climate positive.

Our working meetings were held at the IBM Innovation Studio at 51 Astor Place – a quite cool Manhattan location which serves as the headquarters and think tank for IBM’s WatsonX AI technology. WatsonX is the super smart descendant of Watson and also of IBM’s Deep Blue AI which once famously defeated the great world champion chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov. These days, the even more advanced genius of IBM’s WatsonX AI is focused on powering the technological platforms of some of the world’s largest and most innovative corporations and institutions.

Discussions this week were all about the use of IBM’s WatsonX AI, the IBM Environmental Intelligence Suite (EIS), and IBM blockchain technology in projects that will serve to protect some of the Earth’s most delicate and vital ecosystems.

The future looks bright! At The Bloomington Group Ltd. β€” we’re excited.

Leveraging NASA LiDAR Data from the ISS Space Station and WatsonX AI Tech to Preserve Some of the World’s Most Important Ecological Domains

At The Bloomington Group Ltd., we’re feeling so hyped and inspired after a recent visit to South America. The work there is part of our Sustainability / Green Sector portfolio. We travelled down the Amazon River and its tributaries by boat, spent time in the Amazon Rainforest, and visited the incredible Ballestas Islands in all their biodiversity.

Our projects in South America include introducing and implementing ahead-of-the-curve IBM WatsonX AI enabled technologies with our clients to help monitor and preserve some of the continent’s and the world’s most important ecological domains, including, most vitally, the Amazon Rainforest.

In addition to using IBM block chain technology with various tracking projects, we’re especially thrilled to be rolling out IBM’s state-of-the-art AI enabled Environmental Intelligence Suite (EIS), which provides powerful analytics leveraging NASA LiDAR data from the ISS Space Station, on-the-ground sampling and other scientific data.

How precious and wondrous these ecosystems are – and what a thrill it is to be engaged in these conservation and preservation efforts, all while helping our clients to thrive sustainably and achieve great things.
