Blog – Adventures in the American Southwest

It’s been an amazing couple of weeks spent in Dallas and Austin, Texas meeting with clients and business leaders in the automotive, music, and apparel industries. We were also especially inspired as we participated in events at the IBM Innovation Studio in Dallas with our IBM colleagues and partners.

We’re so pleased to be able to introduce clients based in the American Southwest to some of the latest innovations in supply chain intelligence, order management systems, inventory management and optimization, and the AI technologies that can turbo charge these platforms.

These technologies all work to help businesses manage costs, optimize operations, and increase profitability — effectively and sustainably.

Thanks to our whole team at The Bloomington Group Ltd. and our IBM colleagues for their efforts, both client facing and behind the scenes.

Our CEO & Chief Architect on Blockchain, Safety, and Trust

“As an underlying data model, Blockchain has a lot of potential because of its immutability which lends to trust, and trust is so important when you are talking about food safety. I do think that’s probably the most significant innovation in the traceability space.” – Judson Sinton, CEO & Chief Architect, The Bloomington Group Ltd., Xtalks, On Location at the 18th Annual Canadian Summit on Food Safety.

We’re excited about the work we’re doing to enable Food Safety and Traceability across North America, both as a Gold Sponsor of the 18th Annual Canadian Summit on Food Safety, 2024 and in bringing our clients onto the IBM Food Trust platform, one of the many powerful applications of the AI and blockchain driven IBM Supply Chain Intelligence Suite which we bring to our clients across industries from aerospace to automotive to agriculture and food – all industries where the ability to track and trace products with precision and speed is vital.

Leveraging the IBM Food Trust Platform in Jamaica for Food and Agriculture Traceability

🌎The past week for us was all about the wonderful food products of beautiful Jamaica – supply chain management, transparency, traceability, and secure immutable tracking using IBM AI and Blockchain enabled technology…

Some of our team were so pleased to be in beautiful Jamaica, along with our business partners at IBM and bSMARTe Logistics, meeting with food and agriculture sector businesses, members of parliament, and the board of the Jamaican Manufacturing and Export Association — so many passionate and super smart people.

We’re excited to be promoting and working to implement IBM Food Trust, an initiative that’s all about enabling sustainable food ecosystems. The AI and blockchain driven technology platform improves supply chain transparency dramatically — farm to table secure immutable tracking of food products to ensure quality, pedigree, traceability, and capture data regarding sustainable practices. This in turn also supports efficiency, better supply chain management, regulatory compliance, and better access to markets for the farmers, food producers, distributors, and sellers involved.

And yes, when it comes to Jamaica, that’s all about so many incredible delights … from scotch bonnet peppers, to jerk sauce, to the juiciest delectable mangoes, to delicious ackee fruit (which some on our team have only just discovered), to lovely teas, yams, cane sugar, rum, and so much more.

In the immortal words of a quite famous pirate, “Where’s the rum?”

Securing Food Safety, Quality, and Pedigree with IBM AI powered Supply Chain Technology | Changing Regulatory Environments | The Future is Here🌱

At The Bloomington Group Ltd., we’re pleased to be promoting and working with clients to implement IBM Food Trust, a state-of-the-art AI and blockchain powered software platform that enables safe and highly efficient food supply chain ecosystems.

Precision supply chain track and trace technology is so important for businesses these days — especially in the agricultural and food industries.

By moving to the IBM Food Trust platform, agriculture and food industry businesses can ensure the quality and integrity of their products while also adhering to sweeping new FDA, emerging CFIA, and other international regulations.

We’re excited to be speaking with industry leaders about this technology at the upcoming IBM Sustainability – New Tech for the New Rules events in Kingston, Jamaica, April 17-23 and then in Toronto the following week at the 18th Annual Canadian Food Safety Summit, April 24, 25. We’re especially pleased to be a Gold Sponsor at the Toronto event and to be co-hosting the Jamaica events with our partners at IBM and Jamaica based bSMARTe.

If your business is engaged in food production, procurement, distribution, or sales and is interested in learning more, please reach out to us. We’d love to meet you and see how we can help.
